The Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC) will organize the 2025 Unity Summit on Sept. 16 and 17
The Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC) is set to host the
much-anticipated 2025 Unity Summit on September 16 and 17 in Washington, D.C.
The event, themed “Building
Solidarity,” will bring together hundreds of leaders, advocates, and
changemakers from across the nation. According to New India Abroad, the summit
serves as a cornerstone for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific
Islander (AANHPI) communities to unite through policy dialogue, cultural
celebration, and collective action.
This year’s program will highlight pressing issues such as civil rights,
economic equity, religious freedom, mental health, political participation, and
the impact of recent executive orders. As reported by New India Abroad, the
sessions are designed to amplify AANHPI voices in the national
narrative—especially as the country approaches the 250th anniversary of the
Declaration of Independence.
Attendees will engage in advocacy training, interact with Members of
Congress, and enjoy multicultural performances showcasing AANHPI heritage. The
summit will also honor notable figures, including Rep. Gene Wu with the Dalip
Singh Saund Award, Ambassador M. Osman Siddique with the Norman Mineta Award,
and philanthropists Dr. Ellen Qiong Schicktanz and Dr. Surinder Sehgal. Youth
leaders Oorja Manot, Akhil Venkatesh, and Adam Zhang will also be recognized
for their contributions.
Keynote speakers will include Anil Sharma, CEO of 22nd Century
Technologies, and serial entrepreneur Sandy Chau. The summit will close with a
Congressional Reception and awards ceremony.
AAUC leaders, including Board Chair Dr. SK Lo and President Angela
Anand, emphasized that the event is not just a gathering but a movement for
empowerment and unity. As highlighted by New
India Abroad, the 2025 Summit will also introduce two new resources—AAUC’s
HUB, a centralized data platform, and the Asian American News Portal, a
biweekly digest amplifying community stories.
