celebrated with grandeur in New York at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2025. Hosted
at the iconic Jacob K. Javits Center, the commemorative event took place at the
India Pavilion and drew attention from food and beverage enthusiasts, global
importers, and cultural dignitaries.
This historic
celebration was a collaborative effort led by the
Consulate General of India in New York and featured the presence of key
dignitaries including Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota and Binaya Srikanta
Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York. Together, they inaugurated the
event and paid tribute to the significance of Assam tea not only as a global
commodity but also as a cultural heritage of India.
Assam tea, known for
its bold flavor and bright color, has played a pivotal role in shaping the
global tea market since the 1820s. This 200-year
