Plane Crash in Ahmedabad: Tragedy Strikes as Private Aircraft Goes Down

Ahmedabad, June 12 — A private aircraft tragically crashed on the outskirts of Ahmedabad early Wednesday morning, sending shockwaves across the city and raising urgent concerns about aviation safety. According to local authorities, the small chartered plane went down near the Narmada Canal area shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion and thick black smoke rising from the crash site. Emergency responders, including fire brigades and medical teams, rushed to the scene within minutes. Initial reports suggest that the plane was carrying five individuals — two crew members and three passengers — all of whom are feared dead. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed pending notification of family members.

Aviation officials have launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash. While technical malfunction is suspected, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has stated that a thorough review of maintenance records and flight data is underway.

This devastating incident has not only shaken the local community but also reignited debate over safety regulations governing small aircraft operations in India.
