Air India Plane Crash Shocks Nation – News India Abroad Reports

 

Tragedy struck on June 12 when an Air India plane crash occurred minutes after takeoff from Ahmedabad, en route to London’s Gatwick Airport. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carried 242 people, including 217 adults and 11 children. Among them were 169 Indian nationals, 43 Britons, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian. The Air India plane crash happened near a civilian area close to the airport. Eyewitnesses reported a massive fireball rising from the residential zone, with debris scattered and thick black smoke in the sky. According to officials, the aircraft gave a “Mayday” distress signal shortly after departing at 1:39 p.m. but lost contact soon after.
