Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Air India Tragedy Near Airport – News India Abroad

 

In a tragic incident on June 12, an Ahmedabad plane crash involving an Air India flight to London left the nation in shock. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 242 people, including 217 adults and 11 children, crashed minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad airport. The flight was headed to Gatwick Airport, UK. Eyewitnesses reported a fireball and thick smoke rising from a civilian area near the airport. Among the passengers were 169 Indian nationals, 43 Britons, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian. The aircraft issued a "Mayday" call at 1:39 p.m. local time before losing contact. News India Abroad is closely monitoring the Ahmedabad plane crash and will provide updates as official details emerge. Emergency teams responded quickly, with visuals showing debris, rescue efforts, and ambulances transporting the injured. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
